What you can expect on retreat
How does silence feel for you? Is it an awkward time between words or an
invitation to meet God in a deeper way? If you would like to dip into a weekend of
gentle silence or go even deeper listening to God on a 5 day retreat these times
at Douai are for you. We will use scripture, music and art during our led times
together and there will be opportunities to talk to a spiritual companion.
All the time between sessions is intended for you to continue with your own
thoughts and prayers, so we offer each other the gift of silence — uninterrupted by
mobile phones, e-mails...
The weekend retreat is mainly for those fairly new to silence, with several led
sessions and the opportunity for a one-one time with a spiritual guide.
The longer 5 night retreat is intended for those who wish to go deeper, with one
led session and a one-one with a spiritual guide each day, thus leaving plenty of
opportunity for encountering God in your own way.
On both retreats we hope that there will be ideas for you to take away that will
help you as you encounter God in your everyday life.
In the one-one time with your spiritual guide you can talk about what is going on
within you, how it is with you and God, or anything else... Whatever you choose
to say will be in complete confidence.
